The Self-Paced Online Modules introduced by ICAI are designed to help Chartered Accountancy (CA) students build specialized knowledge in emerging and critical areas of finance, technology, and business. These modules provide flexibility, allowing students to complete them at their own pace. Completion of these modules is mandatory for CA students before appearing for the CA Final Examination.
The modules are categorized into two levels: Set A (Mandatory) and Set B (Electives).
Set A: Mandatory Modules
These modules focus on foundational skills and knowledge areas that every CA student needs to master. Completion of these modules is essential for building competencies in finance, accounting, and regulatory aspects.
Information System, Control and Audit (ISCA)
Covers information systems, risk management, cybersecurity, and IT control processes.
Topics include information system risks, controls, business continuity, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity.
Corporate and Economic Laws
Focuses on advanced corporate laws and economic regulations impacting businesses.
Topics include Companies Act, SEBI regulations, competition law, FEMA, and more.
Strategic Cost Management
Emphasizes cost management and performance evaluation for strategic decision-making.
Topics include costing systems, pricing strategies, transfer pricing, and lean management.
Financial and Capital Markets
Provides insights into financial markets, instruments, and capital market regulations.
Topics cover securities markets, investment instruments, trading mechanisms, and market regulations.
Set B: Elective Modules (Choose any two)
The elective modules offer specialization in cutting-edge areas, allowing students to tailor their learning to their interests or career goals. Students must choose and complete two of these modules.
Data Analytics for Finance
Covers data-driven decision-making and analytics tools for financial insights.
Topics include data visualization, predictive analytics, and application of data science in finance.
Global Finance Reporting Standards (GFRS)
Focuses on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their application.
Topics include IFRS framework, IFRS standards, and comparison with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
International Taxation
Examines tax rules and practices in an international context, with a focus on cross-border transactions.
Topics cover transfer pricing, DTAA, BEPS, and taxation of non-residents.
Digital Accounting and Assurance
Covers the use of digital tools in accounting and assurance services.
Topics include automation in auditing, blockchain in accounting, and data security in financial audits.
Banking and Financial Services
Provides insights into the banking sector and financial services industry.
Topics include banking regulations, financial instruments, credit management, and risk assessment.
Business and Financial Modelling

Economic Laws

Evaluation and Completion
Each module includes assessments, case studies, and practical applications, ensuring comprehensive understanding and skill development.
Students must score a minimum of 50% in each module to pass.
Completion certificates for each module are required to be eligible to appear for the CA Final Examination.
